The number of balls it took Mohit Ahlawat to smash a triple-hundred in a local T20 match in Delhi.

Ahlawat hit 300 from 72 deliveries including 39 sixes, five coming in the final over from which he scored 34.

The Delhi Daredevils have called Ahlawat up for a trial ahead of the IPL.

Ahlawat – who has played three first-class matches for Delhi – told the Times of India: “When I reached 150, I told myself 250 was there for the taking. So I told my partner at the other end that I was going to take most of the strike." Fair.

The highest T20I belongs to Chris Gayle who registered 175 in an IPL match for Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2013.

Consecutive series in which Virat Kohli has registered double-centuries.

  • 200 v West Indies, North Sound, July 2016.
  • 211 v New Zealand, Indore, October 2016.

  • 204 v Bangladesh, Hyderabad, February 2017.

No other player has achieved the feat. Don Bradman and Rahul Dravid both managed doubles in three consecutive series.

Kohli has amassed 859 runs at 122.71 since the start of the first Test against England at Rajkot: 40, 49*, 167, 81, 62, 6*,235, 15, 204.

It is getting to the stage were restricting India’s captain to a bog-standard century can be considered a relative success. Australia beware...

Number of ODI centuries Quinton de Kock has beside his name.

De Kock hit 109 against Sri Lanka this afternoon, passing 3,000 ODI runs (3,073) in the process.

His 12th hundred draws him level with India’s Rahul Dravid and England’s Marcus Trescothick.

In the same match Hashim Amla notched his 24th hundred in one-day interntionals.

Number of candidates reported to have been interviewed to replace Alastair Cook as England’s Test captain.

As expected, front-runner Joe Root, as well as Ben Stokes and Stuart Broad are said to have met with Andrew Strauss regarding the position.

If England are concerned about adding extra pressure onto their premier batsman or leading allrounder, Broad would offer a somewhat conservative, but experienced option.
