Sarah's parents first introduced her to the beautiful game when she was a very wee thing (some would say she still is...) and she's been more than a little obsessed with cricket ever since.

Her early heroes were Ian Botham and Derek Randall, until she was taken to the St Lawrence Ground and developed a crush on Graham Dilley.

Celeb spotting Mick Jagger in the crowd confirmed the SLG as a cool place to be and her already burgeoning passion for the game was fuelled in 1980 by the arrival in the flesh of the great West Indies team, boasting the likes of Richards, Lloyd & Garner, and by Beefy's Ashes the following year.

Sarah followed her local village team around Kent at the weekends, avidly watched Test matches on television, learned to score at a fairly young age (tea making was never going to be for her!) and, best of all, was taken occasionally to watch Kent in the John Player League on a Sunday.

Although never having wielded a bat in anger, she maintains she could have been a pretty handy batsman if garden cricket is any indication! Sarah took up summer residence at the St Lawrence Ground some years ago & is now the official photographer for Kent Cricket and for TestMatchSofa.
