Ben Stokes has a tight hamstring

England have called up Surrey allrounder Sam Curran to their squad for the second Test against Pakistan, as cover for Ben Stokes.

Stokes is struggling with a tight left hamstring and may not be fit enough to feature in the game at Headingley, which is due to start on Friday.

Curran, whose brother Tom made his Test debut in the Ashes tour of Australia over the winter, has yet to make an international appearance.

Stokes sustained the injury while fielding in training on Wednesday.

The home side are desperate to make amends for a tame showing at Lord's last week, where they were beaten by nine wickets.
