The pair replace Central Districts batsman Tom Bruce and Wellington wicketkeeper Tom Blundell for games against England and Australia
Tim Seifert has been called into the New Zealand T20 squad
Mark Chapman and Tim Seifert have been called into the New Zealand squad for the remainder of the T20 Tri Series against Australia and England.
Chapman, the former Hong Kong international, made 307 runs for Auckland during the Super Smash - New Zealand's domestic T20 competition - at a strike rate of over 170.
Seifert's inclusion is also based on form. The wicketkeeper-batsman made the fastest ever T20 century in New Zealand in December, from 40 balls against Auckland.
The pair replace Central Districts batsman Tom Bruce and Wellington wicketkeeper Tom Blundell.
"Mark has been been very consistent over the past couple of seasons and has taken his game to another level in recent times," said national selector Gavin Larsen.
"His ability to hit the ball in all areas makes him a real threat."
